Scoreline: NSW 144 – Simon Katich53 (41)
Eagles 91/9 Ryan McLaren 40 | Stuart Clark 4-12-3

NSW don’t disappoint; Daniel Smith looks like he’ll be to this tournament what Ramesh Powar was to IPL 2009. Apart from that a pretty dull game with one team in a domina role, unless fielding gets you really off.

Plot :Our money is the source of all emotions. It is also the source of our guilt. What if a killer wakes up one day with his memory erased? Would his crime cease to exist? What if an innocent guy wakes up one day with his memory ****d out and perceives himself to be a criminal? Would that perception change his reality? Faltering memory continually alters the constancy of truth. Short term memory loss denies you of an identity throwing you into an abyss of excruciating agony.

'Acid Factory' is about a group of characters whose sense of past has vanished in a haze.

They have woken up from a coma like sleep only to discover that reality might just be a figment of their imagination. Their sense of right and wrong is convoluted by their state of complete distrust of the other and their sense of self righteousness. Wouldn't your survival instinct make you renounce your evil self so that you can survive? Acid Factory' plays out as a thriller; a morality game within and a cat and mouse chase on the outside. This purports to be a ****** of a thriller which will have you on the edge of your seat and, most probably, rooting for the wrong guy.

The story is set in the world of feudal landlords - zamindars - whose word is law for the villagers who work on their land. The central plot goes like this: After the zamindar brothers who rule after the death of their parents are told by a holy man that their sister will bring disgrace on them by her marriage, they set out to shield her from even being seen by men, let alone touched by any of them. A village simpleton is employed as her bodyguard. But when he saves her life, she falls in love and gets him to tie a necklace around her neck. What he doesn't realize is that it is a wedding chain (mangalsutra) and that in the eyes of God they are now married. The brothers react with violence when they realize what has happened...

Watch cricket highlights: Pakistan vs New Zealand – the 2nd semi final of the Champions Trophy.

Team Info: NZ – Redmond (had a great game in similar circumstances vs Ireland – T20 WC) for Ryder. Pakistan – Nazir back from injury for Misbah

Scoreline: Pakistan 233 Umar Akmal 55 | Ian Butler 10-44-4 Vettori 10-2-43-3
NZ get there with a couple of overs to go Grant Elliott 75 no, Vettori 41 Ross Taylor 38 | Aamer 10-2-32-1

NZ have been my personal favourites to make it out of their group and perhaps go further, but once Ryder was out, I doubt I genuinely felt they could go past the semis. So, super day for New Zealand cricket and its supporters.

The core of the NZ bowling attack is based on a combination of discipline and striking abilities (Bond, Butler, Vettori). So what was expected when Pakistan came out to bat was an effort to dismantle this discipline through attacking brilliance. Instead, what was on offer was a weak attempt at Younus Khan’s favourite cricket concept – partnerships – which he might well have stitched into the players’ pillows last night. Didn’t quite work. It has worked in the past (like the game vs India), so that’s the flipside to it. But it never really looked the right approach against this bowling attack.

The next was the assessment of a fair total on the track. To come up with 200 indicates – underestimation of the NZ batsmen/overestimation of the Pakistan bowling attack/a genuine case of misreading the pitch – or a combination of all three.

NZ on the other hand took the other approach. To start with, their bowling except at the death got it right – even Mills had his head screwed on for a change. And when they came out to bat, the glimmer boys looked to attack the Pakistani bowlers whenever possible, while the partnership kind of guys (Vettori, Elliott) put on a partnership. In the end I guess, it came down to the definition of roles for players and how only one side got it right today.

The controversial aspect of ball tampering was once again woken up in a Pak-NZ game with Simon Doull this time going nuts on air, ranting on without any attempt at subtlety.

Scoreline: West Indies 129 all out | Praveen Kumar, Nehra 3 each
India get there in the 33rd over – Virat Kohli 79, Karthik 34

With the Aus-Pak game going the way India didn’t want, the chase fizzled out a bit – Kohli showing glimpses of why the hype (without results) that has been following him for a while now is probably justified. When Dravid was brought back into the ODI squad, my first thought was that it was a good time for him to announce his retirement from ODI cricket. It was so obvious he was living on borrowed time and he might as well have said f**k you to those who like to use and throw. If what was being said on air yesterday is to be believed, he might well never play ODI cricket for India again. Also disturbing was the axing of Yusuf for what appears to be a long period.

Preplay: If Pakistan don’t beat Australia today, this game has no relevance for the Indian team in the context of the tournament.
